River Barle, Exmoor

The River Barle flows under the ancient bridge at Tarr Steps on the southern edge of Exmoor. Upstream of the bridge the river has carved a beautiful steep-sided, wooded valley. It's a great place to be on a spring day with the trees coming into leaf and the busy river gurgling over its rocky bed.
